At the start of my running journey in 2020, I thought the only way to run was FAST…every single time! You know the way,  you finish doubled over, red in the face and panting!  I wondered why I wasn’t seeing improvement or even actually enjoying it until I started looking into the techniques behind it to improve my distance, pace and most importantly enjoyment!

I’ve always had a passion for fitness, not just because of the physical benefits it brings but the mental wellbeing that accompanies it too.  As a kid and teenager, I was a gymnast for 14 years so I’ve always enjoyed movement and looking for new challenges – you can often find me signing up for events that I know will push me!

I started running at the youthful age of 41 and haven’t looked back since. I enjoy the shorter faster middle distances. I am the current ‘Tattie Queen’ after winning a race that required me to run 1 mile with a 10kg sack of potatoes on my back 😂. You can see a picture of my efforts above. I did this in 2021 but still hold the crown because the organisers haven’t held the event since…which I take to mean they were satisfied that peak performance had been reached 🤣.

I also love training for and taking part in various fitness races (yes, things like Hyrox!). I started kickboxing at the age of 40 and have since earned my black belt and am now a kickboxing coach 🥊🥋.

In my running coach capacity, I specialise in working with clients up to 10k distance as well as interval-based fitness racers looking to make running related gains in their sport (and if you know fitness racing, you’ll know there are a lot of tired running intervals involved so the biggest gains to make!.

I believe fitness is open to everyone and I get a buzz from helping others find ways to get it into their everyday lives…and more importantly ENJOY the journey as they go!
