Lana π
Even though I am sure I’m a bit younger than Tilly, I’m the bigger of the two. I don’t really run….I plod, but that’s only if my human can get me out for a walk as I am a couch potato and will head the other way if I think I have to go outside! I do zoomies approximately twice a year. It’s such a rare event that whatever else is going on at home immediately pauses so everyone can watch my prowess and speed work. I stop either when I’m too tired or I’ve crashed into a wall and near knocked myself out (I lack something called ‘gross motor skills’ when I am excited). I had a hard start in life and no one taught me how to play with toys so, even though my human has tried, I just don’t get it, so I don’t run for those either. To be honest, I much prefer tummy rubs and being rocked like a baby in my humans arms over actual movement.
The only form of exercise I like is accompanying my human on EVERY trip to the office kitchen where there might be a bit of food on offer, carrots π₯ are my absolute favourite. And if I HAVE to go out for a walk, I like rambling to peoples houses if I smell food cooking. For some reason this latter activity always ends with a game of hide and seek where my human has to find me again…she says I’m not to play that game – not sure why…

I’m older than Lana even though people often call me a puppy (or sometimes confuse me with a cat π ) because of how small and sprightly I am! I still like to run, but in my own special way because I have hips and knees that dislocate so sometimes it’s more of a ‘step, skip, hop, repeat’ action – but I can do that at speed! It’s just as well I am still fast for a small dog, because apparently I’m a ‘grumpy old lady’ who likes to go and see other dogs on our walks, but if they decide they want to play, I give them a good telling off then run away. Apparently I ‘bring it on myself’ by wanting to go sniff them but it’s just how I am, I like to be the boss of everyone.
Being the boss is tiring though, so I make sure to do a lot of recovery walking and stopping for sniffs when I have my human out for walkies too. And although I am not as much of a couch potato as Lana, I do like to spend a lot of time chilling around the house. I conserve my energy by waiting to see what my human brings back from the office kitchen for me…I’m not daft like Lana! I make sure I get a lot of heat therapy by following the sunspot around the house – it keeps me warm and limber for that next walk.
